Code Of Conduct

This code may be summed up simply: Be Kind and welcoming. However, since this does not always happen, we have elaborated on this principle below. The Beyond Platforms Initiative (BPI) is dedicated to providing a harassment-free social experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion or interest. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Anyone violating these rules will be expelled from the venue at the discretion of the organisers.

This anti-harassment policy is based on the Berlin Game Scene Safe Space Policy & Code of Conduct of Code DC. The policy is licensed under the Creative Commons Zero license. It is public domain, so feel free to copy it, edit and use it.

Principles

Do Not Harass

Harassment is any unwelcome or hostile behavior towards another person for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, intimidation, physical contact, sexual advances (verbal or physical), or other conduct that makes others uncomfortable.

BPI will not tolerate such behavior.

Respect the Opinions of Others

BPI is designed as a place for people all of different skill levels and approaches to meet, hack and work together toward common goals. As a result, we do not expect that everybody will share the same opinion. However, we do expect that disagreement is done respectfully.

Keep Your Team Open

Except for instances where it would significantly impede productivity, there is always room on a Team for one more person. Unless doing so would be counter-productive to the goals of the project, anybody who is interested in a project is allowed to join it.

Procedures

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the venue. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organiser or volunteer immediately.

The staff will be happy to help participants contact security or police, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance.

We expect participants to follow these rules at our venue and on all social channels while at the Workshop.
